Our Story: How It Started

Sweet Peony began with brunch in Wheaton, Illinois. Laura was looking for a creative outlet, and Lizzy was looking for a challenge. Over waffles and omelets, we decided to join forces.

Meet Laura

Laura grew up in Germany, moved to Wheaton in 2006 for college, and has made it her home ever since (along with her husband and their son).

Her love for the Wheaton community and her passion for beauty, color, and design come together in Sweet Peony. She is the creative force behind every gift basket and floral arrangement.

Meet Lizzy

Lizzy has lived in the Chicago area – on and off – since 2003. She settled in Wheaton in 2021 and spends her time working at a local publishing house and raising her three boys alongside her husband.

Lizzy specializes in making things happen; at Sweet Peony, she embraces the challenge of turning Laura’s creative vision into a reality.
